[Stockholm, 9 December 2020] – Annualised series production in November finished at 2.6 million Engine Equivalents, providing the fifth consecutive month of stable production. The average production for the July-November 2020 period amounts to 2.75 million Engine Equivalents, corresponding to approximately 83% of the 2019 full-year run-rate of 3.3 million Engine Equivalents.
November also marked the completion of the physical commissioning of the System 4000 Plus installations at the First Automobile Works foundry in China and at the new Scania foundry in Sweden. Initial production trials have been successfully completed at FAW and process trials are planned at the Scania foundry during December. Combined with the System 4000 installation at the WHB foundry in Brazil, and other capacity and functionality upgrades that have been installed during the year, SinterCast will achieve a second consecutive year of record installation revenue, exceeding the benchmark of SEK 11.9 million set in 2019.
“While the November production decreased slightly, we see solid demand in both the passenger vehicle and commercial vehicle markets. Building on the overall market recovery and new series production programmes coming on-stream, we maintain our confidence in returning to the pre-corona production level and in our long-term growth” said Dr Steve Dawson, President & CEO. “We are particularly proud of our 2020 installation performance. Despite delays and difficulties caused by corona restrictions, we found solutions to provide remote and on-site installation support and our efforts will be rewarded with our second consecutive year of record installation revenue.”
