[Stockholm, 9 October 2020] – Following stable production of 2.7 million Engine Equivalents in July and August, annualised series production increased to 2.9 million Engine Equivalents in September. Annualised series production for the third quarter finished at 2.8 million Engine Equivalents, corresponding to approximately 85% of the 2019 full-year run-rate of 3.3 million Engine Equivalents. Compared to the annualised production of 1.6 million Engine Equivalents in the second quarter, the recovery experienced during the third quarter represents an increase of approximately 75%.
“In parallel with the recovery and improving stability of the series production, the third quarter also marked the start of the System 4000 Plus installations at the First Automobile Works foundry in China and at the new Scania foundry in Sweden. These installations are underway and are planned to be completed during the fourth quarter” said Dr Steve Dawson, President & CEO. “We are encouraged by the continued recovery of the series production and we maintain our confidence in our long term growth potential. We also maintain our intention to share the financial results of 2019 with our shareholders at an Extraordinary General Meeting to be convened on or before 20 November.”
